(1) Passenger car sales increased by 1.7% year-on-year
In March, the production and sales of passenger cars were 2.188 million and 2.096 million, respectively, up 18.4% and 28.4% from the previous month, up 1.8% and 1.7% respectively. Among them, the sales of sedans were 990,000, down 4.9% year-on-year; the sales of SUVs were 832,000, up 19.6% year-on-year; the sales of MPV were 199,000, down 14.9% year-on-year; the sales of cross-type passenger cars were 75,000, down 16.7% year-on-year.
From January to March, a total of 5.848 million passenger cars were sold, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%. Among them, the sales of cars was 2.840 million units, up 0.6% year-on-year; the sales of SUVs was 2.386 million units, up 20.9% year-on-year; the sales of MPVs was 553,000 units, down 17.4% year-on-year; the sales of cross-type passenger cars were 169,000 units, down 22.7% year-on-year.

1. Small displacement passenger car growth rate slows down
In March, the growth rate of passenger cars of 1.6 liters and below slowed down. This month, sales of 1.451 million vehicles, down 0.1% year-on-year, accounting for 69.2% of passenger car sales, down 1.3 percentage points year-on-year.
From January to March, the cumulative sales of passenger cars of 1.6 liters and below were 4.196 million, an increase of 4.8% over the same period, accounting for 70.6% of passenger car sales, an increase of 0.1 percentage points year-on-year.
2. Chinese brand passenger car market continues to grow
In March, a total of 957,000 Chinese brand passenger cars were sold, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%, accounting for 45.6% of total passenger car sales.
From January to March, the cumulative sales of Chinese brand passenger cars totaled 2.72 million, up 6.5% year-on-year, accounting for 45.7% of total passenger car sales; among them, car sales were 571,000, up 1.9% year-on-year, with a market share of 20.1%; SUV The sales volume was 1.48 million units, a year-on-year increase of 28.9%, and the market share was 62.4%. The MPV sales volume was 493,000 units, down 20.6% year-on-year, with a market share of 89.0%.

(II) Commercial vehicle sales increased by 16.2% year-on-year
In March, the production and sales volume of commercial vehicles continued to grow rapidly. The production and sales were 416,000 and 447,000 respectively, up 33.3% and 45.7% respectively, up 10.2% and 16.2% respectively.
From January to March, the cumulative production and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 1.026 million units and 1.054 million units, up 15.4% and 22.9% respectively. According to the production and sales of the models, the production and sales of passenger cars decreased by 22.5% and 21.1% respectively year-on-year; the production and sales of trucks increased by 21.4% and 30.1% respectively, and the production and sales of trucks continued to grow rapidly.
New energy vehicle sales increased by 35.6% year-on-year
In March, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 33,000 and 311,000 respectively, up 30.9% and 35.6% respectively. Among them, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles were 24,000, up 113.1% and 120.7% respectively; the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were respectively 0.53 million and 0.48 million, down 11.9% and 3.9% respectively.
From January to March, new energy vehicles produced 58,000 vehicles and sold 56,000 vehicles, down 7.7% and 4.7% respectively. Among them, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles were 48,000 and 44,000, respectively, up 2.9% and 4.4% year-on-year; the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were respectively 10,000 and 12,000, down 37.5% and 28.4% respectively.
